Welcome to Formal Assessment in Lesion Recognition at Endoscopy

This e-learning programme is designed to complement the skills training programmes that have been developed and run throughout the UK as part of the National Endoscopy Training Programme.

Note: this is a pilot version of the site, with one assessment available at present. This assessment comprises 10 questions (most with several parts each) and a pass rate of 70%. Your feedback on this pilot version is very welcome – please click on Contact Us.

It has become apparent that with the move to competence based curricula, lesion recognition, a vital part of endoscopy, had not been formally addressed.

This programme, a joint venture of the BSG and the JAG (funded by the BSG) gives trainee endoscopists the opportunity to test their lesion recognition skills, and related endoscopic / gastroenterological knowledge. The programme will grow to cover all of the domains of current endoscopy, and you can assess your skills in your chosen domain(s).

If you pass you will be able to print out a certificate, after filling in a brief evaluation. You may take any assessment programme as many times as you need to obtain your certificate. The endoscopic photographs and related questions are randomly selected from a large database. It is possible that this programme may be used in the future as part of the recertification process.
